Version: 1.1.0 - CD Based Version
This page provides updates for Red Hat® compatibility.

Click here for the Red Hat® 7.0 patch.

This version loads minimal files to hard disk. Actual content remains on CD.
Your CD-ROM drive must be mounted to /mnt/cdrom in order for the program
to function properly.

NOTE:  If you are upgrading this product from version 1.0.8 please make sure that
the previous version is uninstalled before proceeding: # rpm --erase ph-redhat

    Before Installing the RPM:

  1. Mount the CD-ROM if not already mounted
    # mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom

  2. Change directory to your cdrom disk:
    # cd /mnt/cdrom

  3. Quit Netscape.

  4. If Netscape is not installed, install it now:

    First install the common component:

    # rpm -i /mnt/cdrom/installations/NetscapeLinux/netscape-common-4.72-6.i386.rpm

    Next install Navigator:

    # rpm -i /mnt/cdrom/installations/NetscapeLinux/netscape-navigator-4.72-6.i386.rpm

  5. Install xanim if it is not installed

    # rpm -i /mnt/cdrom/installation/xanim/xanim-2.80.1-3.i386.rpm

  6. This product requires that you have the Macromedia Shockwave Flash plug-in installed.
If you don't have this installed install it now:

    # rpm -i /mnt/cdrom/ph-flashplugin-1.0.0-1.i386.rpm

    Installing the RPM:

The following command will install the Red Hat® Cyber Classroom package:

    # rpm -i ph-redhat-1.1.0-1.i386.rpm

    Product is now installed.

The rpm install automatically configures your netscape mime types
by adding new video and audio mime types to the files /usr/local/lib/netscape/mailcap
and /usr/local/lib/netscape/mime.types. If these files do not exist they will be created.
If you have already configured the avi and mp3 mime types in your browsers these setting
    will be maintained.
